Beehive IS SAFE

Safety is our priority. The Beehive has been designed and tested to ensure the simplest and safest coexistence of bees and humans. Our hives are created to be in accordance with current Italian regulations. For residents outside Italy: check your local beekeeping regulations!

The only point of entry and exit in the hive for bees is located 2.2 meters from the ground, so that all family members can observe, work and play around the hive in total safety. But remember, bees are non-domesticated animals, so we always suggest getting to know these beautiful animals before starting your beekeeping adventure.

Beehive IS SIMPLE

Our honey harvesting system allows you to easily separate the environment where bees deposit honey from that in which they live. It’s not required to wear protective clothing for the process of extracting honey. In addition, this process does not mistreat bees, since it avoids crushing them during the collection process.

The dimension of the Beehive has been studied to allow you to extract only the excess honey, leaving enough for your bees! Always remember that honey is their nourishment and represents their stocks for cold periods.

Beehive IS INTERACTIVE

At any time, we can observe the bees through the transparent walls placed on the sides of our Beehive, an absolute innovation compared to traditional hives. You can watch bees building the wax cells, which in turn are filled with honey. All in complete safety!

Our Beehive does not need a garden for its operation. In fact, it only requires one square meter of space, adapting to any environment! For instance, you can place it on the terrace of your home, allowing even the little ones to get closer to your world!

Beehive IS BEE-FRIENDLY

Beehive aims to respect terrestrial biodiversity. The size of this innovative hive has been specially designed to protect bees as much as possible. In fact, the bees do not run any risk of being damaged (or in the worst case killed) during the process.

Furthermore, with Beehive, you can make a contribution to the repopulation of bees in the city. So, you are doing your part to create a more sustainable city while safeguarding biodiversity in your community!

For those starting from scratch

It is important to take an online or in-person course before installing bees inside the Beehive so that you have the right knowledge of the subject to take care of these fundamental insects.

Before carrying out treatments or inspections, it is a good idea to equip yourself with protective equipment such as a beekeeping suit and gloves in order to minimize the possibility of receiving stings; the smoker and lever also facilitate the work of controlling the swarm.

We always encourage responsible beekeeping and in case you have never kept bees before, we recommend doing some research before your Beehive arrives. If you want to independently manage your new swarm, it is really recommended to take a beekeeping course. If you have no way to take a course, hire a professional, any local beekeeper is fine and has the necessary skills to manage your bees.

Most beekeepers are willing to sell their own swarms. The price varies from region to region and, above all, from the time of year in which it is purchased. On average, a swarm arranged on 4/5 frames costs around $120, this price is lower in summer and autumn, while it can be slightly higher during spring.

Each municipality has its own beekeeping laws and regulations. Normally, keeping bees in a backyard of a private home is allowed for those who have no neighbors. However, if you were planning to keep bees in your apartment building, on your balcony, or on a rooftop, you should definitely check your local laws.

Sustainability

It seems impossible for those who grew up in the country, but bees today are an endangered species. If they become extinct, our Earth has only a few years before plants die as well. What shall everybody eat then? You can help our planet by making a home for bees!

All or most parts of this product are biodegradable: just plant them in your garden. If you don't have a garden, try our Compost Bin or check your local waste policy. Different materials should always be treated separately.
