June 21 is International Yoga Day 2020. While this age-old practice has helped us so much in recent months to counter coronavirus anxiety and maintain a state of well-being even in times of lockdown, the summer solstice will be an opportunity to celebrate its importance once again.
Sunday, June 21, from 18.00, on the web: the program will be visible on yogafestival.it, on the Facebook page YogaFestivalItalia and on the youtube channel: "Yoga as you've never seen it" arrives in everyone's homes, always visible for free.
Yoga has proven over the millennia to be a functional practice for the growth of humanity's awareness because it promotes a holistic approach to health and well-being. A wider dissemination of its benefits would benefit the health of the world's population.
Non-religious, apolitical, adaptable to every kind of society, Yoga is practiced today in the United States by 35.2 million adults (and 4.9 million children and young people - source CNN/CDC), by over 2.5 million people in Italy and there is a growing scientific and pedagogical interest in the contribution it can make to the healthy and balanced growth of children, as well as the well-being and health of adults. The lockdown has helped to greatly amplify the popularity of yoga: in the United States the sale of yoga mats during quarantine in March recorded a +150% increase. (source: lifegate.it)
