Endangered Species Day

Maria Beatrice Barberis

Creating Habitat for imperiled pollinators: Habitat loss for land use change and the widespread use of chemical deadly pesticides are the leading cause of global species decline. Herbicides and pesticides are hazardous for wildlife and environment, take a long time to degrade and build up in the soils or throughout the food chain.  The creation or restoration of planting sites with local native plant species engages community partnerships of all kinds: farms, land trusts, schools, faith organizations, wildlife refuges, national historic monuments, and many, many other kinds of organizations. Community collaboration is essential to this work, reflecting the linked relationship between people and pollinators.  Make your home wildlife friendly.  Attracting native insects like bees and butterflies can help pollinate your plants.
Secure garbage in shelters or cans with locking lids, feed pets indoors and lock pet indoors at night to avoid attracting wild animals into your home. Reduce your use of water in your home and garden so that animals that live in or near water can have a better chance of survival. Disinfect bird baths often to avoid disease transmission. Place decals on windows to deter bird collisions. Millions of birds die every year because of collisions with windows. You can help reduce the number of collisions simply by placing decals on the windows in your home and office. You can get some decal here. Recycle and buy sustainable products. (source: www.endangered.org) Try our germination pencils to be planted when finish drawing; gently repel insects and small animals by this ultrasound solar repeller instead of killing them; plant trees, Say Yes to Life, Earth Thanks!🌿
