Good news: Seychelles, a third of the oceanic territory becomes a protected area!
The Seychelles have extended the protection of their marine area, going so far as to protect 400,000 square kilometers.The waters of Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, are an extraordinary hotspot of biodiversity and home to a large number of endemic species. Seychelles' vast oceanic territory covers 1.3 million square kilometers and includes diverse marine habitats, from coral reefs to underwater algae forests to the pelagic environment. This priceless natural wealth is now a little safer.
